Richard Lunging Bear is a Renape Powhatan American Indian, and has a program that he takes to Powwows,Camp Grounds,Schools,Boy Scouts,Girl Scouts events and many other types of events. This program is very powerful and unforgettable. He has been performing this program for 33 years. The program is an anti Drug & Alcohol message that is educational in nature. The presentation is done in an Indian way. He is a storyteller and sacred dancer. Teachers and people who have witnessed this program have said that the storytelling holds the children’s attention and impacts them greatly. Of course, the children are the ones who can best attest to this claim! After the children hear the program they follow the message. This program is fun for children ranging in ages from 2 to adult. Lunging Bear comes in full Indian Regalia which looks like he just walked out of a history book. The purpose of this program is to teach children and adults of the dangers of poisons that are killing our people. These poisons are drugs and alcohol. The children are then able to pass this same message on. This storytelling is a form of healing and a planting of seeds of thought that will save many lives in the years to come. At the end of the program, he gives away 5 free gifts each to all the children.
